Does call recording get broken in Pie?

I'm on Verizon Oreo and use a call recording app that works perfectly. I was listening to a podcast where they noted that in Pie the apps no longer have access to caller ID so that when a call is recorded it's just a sound file without any indication what phone number should be associated with the file. Users are instructed to add the phone number after each call.

Can anyone verify this?
