Does changing model name can cause problems?

I changed my model number/name right now, and it was successful. But I'm just curious if it can cause any problems. (???)
Plus i deleted the build.prop.bak, and i forgot to change the manufacturer name of my device.. I changed and saved it but it didn't make a change how's that?
