Does Gingerbread have a "Hold" feature?

Jerry posted a video showing how to place internet calls on Gingerbread. I saw in the left hand corner a "Hold" option. Is this option only available on internet calls or is it available on all calls? I've been hoping for a hold option for awhile.

From the picture he's on an internet call but that would be a cool feature to have for all calls. I have a feeling its gonna be for all calls...hopefully.

Awesome. This would be a great feature to have. Can't wait to see what else gingerbread will bring when it hits the DX..

what would be the difference between hold and mute? Would hold play music or something?

Mute = You can hear them, but they can't hear you.
Hold = You can't hear them, they can't hear you.

Can't wait, that will be great. I'm always wondering if I'm actually muted when I press the button. There has been times that it would not be cool if it didn't work, lol.

Ahhh, thanks for the clarification, lol I was a lil confused for a bit there...

If you could have music playing it would be even cooler, but they would prolly only be able to do that if you bought the music from them (a la call tones)... (did I use that right??? lol)

the gingerbread i am running on my inc does not have a hold feature. havent tried to use the internet calling feature but it is there...

My Nexus one with stock Froyo has hold also. Was this new in Froyo or does it just get lost in third party dialers and skins? I don't know what stock eclair had.

Nexus One always had hold

Agreed... My Nexus One has always had hold, it was available as an option as far back as Eclair.

It could be activated by the same button shown in Gingerbread (although the button was round instead of square), and was activated automatically when you added a call (i.e. for conference calling).

Seriously, I honestly didn't know that. I wish it was made available on devices like the Droid X, like I mentioned in the first post, I've been looking forward to one.

no its an aosp build... how is it built "like" gingerbread?

A developer had to work with it, to get is somewhat stable. That, might not have been a stable feature, and had to be removed.

I don't know, we will know more once it hits other devices, like the Nexus One, and some of the Droid's (officially ;))
