I'm new to Android.

Google Fit on Android 7.0 on Honor 8. Does it count floors like the iPhones or like MS Band? And if not, what is the best alternative?

Thanks.

Perchance, 3 months later I'm asking the same question, my post comes up. Seriously, nobody answered such a simple question?? Or the android people just cringe by the sight of the words MS Band or iPhone :)

No, we don't know what you mean by "count floors". It counts steps. there can be 1 landing per floor or 2 landings per floor, so there's no way a phone (or any pedometer) can count floors, all it can count is the number of times your foot hits the floor and triggers the step sensor.

The fitbit One (Pedometer) can count floors. It uses barometric pressure or the built-in altimeter. All phones have this sensor too so not sure why phone apps don't count floors?

How does this happen then?

I'd like to know how to track stairs with my pixel 2 in the same way I do with my iphone.
