A
AC Question
does Google scan email accounts other than Gmail?
In addition to the stock Gmail app, I am interested in adding an email client app to my android phone to manage a non-Gmail inbox with the goal of NOT having Google scan a POP3 email inbox (as they do with Gmail accounts to push relevant ads to us).
Would this be fruitless? will Google be able to scan/read my email inbox on my android phone, no matter what email client I use? their privacy policy does not explicitly state that they can/do
Notes: (1) yes, I know that you can channel all of your email accounts thru Gmail, but I do not want to do that; (2) on the new Nexus 6 phone, the Mail app no longer works as a standalone email client, but instead directs you to channel your email through Gmail
