Does Hero benefit from faster SD cards?

I had read somewhere that the Hero only has a Class 2 card reader, if that true? Will it not benefit from a Class 6 card? If it does benefit from the faster cards is is enough to justify the added cost? $80 for 16GB Class 6 versus $45 for a Class 2.

I had heard this as well, but my Hero certainly feels faster because of a class 6.
