I know the specs all show that the phone has the 802.11ac WiFi capability, but I was just speaking to a Verizon representative who said that the Verizon version will NOT have the ac capability. (He intimated that they added the wireless charging feature and removed 802.11ac to differentiate their phone).

Does anyone know for sure if the Verizon version will have 802.11ac WiFi?

Thanks.

I wouldn't put much faith into what vzw reps say. Wait until orders go live, I doubt they will take that out

Wireless ac would be on the chip. You can't really remove it without modifying the 800 chip. Think they were telling you a story.

I'm not sure why they would remove it as 802.11ac is the newest (not approved) wireless standard. So it is still changing as there is no solid version of it yet. However, keeping it would only help future proof the device.
