Does plastic break easily on S3?

I currently have an iPhone 5, but am switching to the S4 as soon as it is available for pre-order on AT&T. However, I wanted to ask users of the S3: does the plastic on your phone make it more fragile. For example, if you drop it, does it shatter really easily, or does it stand up really well. Of course, all of these theoretical questions are meant as if your S4 is naked/caseless. Thanks for any help you can give!

The S3 shell is polycarbonate.* Very tough, and fairly flexible. An impact that will permanently dent an aluminum shell will simply cause the S3 to bounce, as the plastic flexes and comes back to shape. Of course, ANY phone with a big, glass screen can suffer screen breakage if it lands wrong, and if you run over it with your car you might crack the plastic. But, in general, the concerns of the "build quality" of the S3 come from people who either have never used one or who need to find some way to denigrate the competition.

*The first commercially available polycarbonate was Lexan. It was (and maybe still is) used for the canopies of Jet fighter planes. The F22 Raptor fighter plane has a polycarbonate canopy. The Chaparral 2J race car from 1970 used Lexan plates that came in physical contact with the ground as the car drove around the track. It's pretty tough stuff.

Nope wont break, but it can scratch if it falls or slides on the sidewalk...a lot of marks can be wiped off with ir shirt though
