I have done my research and have found that in order to unroot, if rooted through unrevoked, it seems that it is best to download the unrevoked s-on tool and flash pc36img both if which I have a hard time finding but anyways is this still the best and easiest way? I downloaded the most recent stock Rom from rom manager and was wondering can I just do the ota update to 2.3.3 from the stock rom I now have and then that will break root? All this to return phone to Sprint

Thanks for the reply dumpedduce but this is the page I had researched including your posts. The problem was that the files on that link were probably not current as I couldn't download either of them. However I did find them here http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/194918-rooting-dummies.html. Now so far I've downloaded both files and successfully got S-on. I just can't seem to flash the pc36img.zip file. I have the one that corresponds to my hboot also so I know this isn't the problem. Any suggestions? And by the way if I have the latest Stock Rom from Rom manager running and now my s-on, am I not now fully unrooted and stock?

updated list to stock RUU's can be found Here

I will try to get it changed on the other thread.

You should not have any root required app on your phone. You can uninstall all the apps but you cannot uninstall SU. This is where you have to flash the stock RUU.
