Does the 2 have the same issues with lag as the 2 XL?

I've seen various reviewers mention lag on the 2XL. I'm thinking while not common it does indeed exist for some users. Lots of possible variables could be in play tho as to the cause. Certain apps could cause issues as well as other possibilities.

Interesting reading indeed, whitenack, and I appreciate the links.

Thankfully my Pixel 2 XL looks and feels just like it did they day I opened the box. And it has one more full year of full manufacturer warranty left.

If someone is experiencing lag on a 2XL they either mostly likely have a hardware defect or it's something they installed. There is no lag built in to the phone or Pie

Yeah some reviewers have mentioned it and you see it pop up on reddit once in a while. No lag on my 2xl 128gb after almost 1 year.

My 2 xl has no lag what so ever! I do a daily reset plus keep my device clean using Norton app daily. Every android device I have ever owned would lag unless I did the reset and clean. All of my IOS devices were the same except you would hit reset under general settings and they would take care of any lag or issues you were having. It a hand held computer that needs maintenance.

How long have you had your Pixel 2 XL?
Do you ever do a factory reset?

I have never had any lag on my XL. I was one of the very first owners...Have never reset it. If an app was laggy I would blame it on the App.

If you wanted to create delay and pass it off as an issue, you could do that easy enough...First thing I would check is animation scales, and animator duration...I keep mine all off.

There may be a phone as fast as the Pixel...but there are none faster. That includes the new iphones and anything running a 845. Hardware issues are pretty rare and easily identified. In the Pixel case covered by warranty for 2 years. Most slow downs are software...(Read badly coded apps, The engadget app was one of these, now fixed)

I am guessing there are a million Pixels like mine that are lightening.

I take any reviewers opinion on anything with a grain of salt...They depend on clicks...

So looking at the referenced articles in #18 , the "most people who complain about the lag" is actually 3 stories about one (1) persons single problem.

PS. no lag on my Pixel 2 XL either. And I guess it's the same problem with the Pixel 2 ;)

I'm just curious what you mean in paragraph 3 the first 2 sentence?

I have had my Pixel 2 non-XL for about a year. I am an admitted app wh@re (I just checked and I have 139 installed). I have seen absolutely no lag or glitches and the battery lasts as long as the day I bought it. I'd like to upgrade to the Pixel 3 when it comes out, but I ask myself "why?" I'm going to wait a few months into next year and get a P3 on sale, but I don't really need to.

Lightweight! 😜

I just Googled how to find the number of apps installed. My Google dashboard reports 372. Supposedly, that is the number currently installed. I do have a bunch but find this difficult to believe How does it count. I have three phones, but only one is turned on and in use. \_0_/

As to the lagginess of the P2XL, mine has none. I've only had it a week, tho. I bought it used, on swappa.
Even before I reduced all three animation settings to zero, there was no lag. It is a bit snappier, tho.

No lag on the Pixel XLs. Just like any phone. There are some that will at times have lag.

Very intersting I have had issues when double tapping the lock button to get to the camera it "lags" a bit and opens the camera and freezes on a black screen then after about a minute or so it opens the camera then i hit the shutter button but it does not take the picture right away. I am also seeing lag when I switch between apps. It is never the same app and its every once in a while. I have seen it somewhere else here where it was mentioned that its happening but now I cant find it.

I also restart my 2 XL most every day. It's been a long time habit with all of my phones. No lag for me.

2XL.. no issues.. I've had the phone for a little over a year with absolutely no issues with"lag"
performance has been excellent....
I randomly do a soft reset every few months or so...

How do people "wipe" their phones? Is it the factory reset? If so isn't that a huge hassle to get everything back onto the phone?

Seeing most people who complain about the lag are 2 XL users. Is it also plaguing the 2?

The average North American driver's reaction time or "lag" time to brake is 1.5 seconds. Life altering events can be played out in that time.

Why would anyone fuss about the lag time to start up an app or instruction for a command on a phone?

Factory reset will restore the phone to like new out of the box except with current OS. It's not a hassle because most of the phone can restore itself depending on the settings

My Pixel 2 doesn't "lag" but I don't have any games on my phone and I don't make videos to do video editing.
