Android Central Question

I've just upgraded from a 2014 Moto G to a G5 Plus. On the G there was a tiny white LED that slowly pulsated to alert you of notifications. I don't see this on the G5+. Is there one, or is there a setting to activate it?

There is a hidden LED which blinks when I power on my phone but it doesn't provide an alert for notifications. I don't think you can activate it without root access.

Moto G5 Plus has a hidden LED indicator, which is located at the earpiece speaker. But Motorola has disabled its function as a notification indicator. This LED works when the time of battery completely dead as well as the time of charging. If you are ready to root the phone, then you can use the LED as a notification indicator, but it is risky, because you may lose your warranty on the phone.

Be aware that even if you root the device, this LED only functions when when you are connected to external power (USB or adapter) because it is hard wired into the charging circuit. Honestly, this LED is useless.
