I know the Verizon version does, as do all the 4g LTE android phones on Verizon. Just wondered if the unlocked Nexus does so as well, on AT&T or similar network?

Thank you!

Yes it does. Gsm phones can talk and surf the web and play store. Cdma cant do this. Verizon nexus is 4g lte and lte allows talk and surf at the same time.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Because the c block spectrum for lte is GSM but yes to my knowledge all GSM phones can do this

I can remember a few years back AT&T advertising the iPhone and only a few others, blackberrys I think.. That they could surf and talk.

Yes at&t, tmobile, and just about every gsm carrier allows talk and surf at the same time.

Any GSM phone should be able to. For a cdma phone to be able to it needs two antennas or LTE, at least that's my understanding of it.

But that's because its a GSM phone, not because its a specific kind of device with extra functionality.

What I meant is back then not all the smartphones could do it. AT&T specifically advertised those few phones they had that could surf n talk.

But any GSM smartphone could do it... They just advertised the iPhone because there were no Verizon or Sprint phones with SVDO 3G or LTE that could do it at that point.

Ahhhh, ok, I see. When I looked at AT&T s website a few years back, they made it seem as if only a few phones they sold could do that.
