Does the HTC U11 work well on Verizon?

I've read some threads on the HTC u11 not being compatable with Verizons network. They all were pre-release. Does anyone have any input on this now that the phone has been out for awhile.

Thanks in advance for any input good or bad.

The U11 works with Verizon but you get no band 4 support and you can't use any Verizon apps.

It's been fantastic for me over the last few days. No 3g support, but I've noticed that the phone hangs into LTE in places where my wife's pixel hits 3g.

No Verizon apps, but that's a bonus to me.

Is the band 4 support something that could change with a software update or change from Verizon, or is it a hardware limitation?

There is lots of post release feedback on Verizon in this thread:

I'm hoping it will change. HTC is negotiating with Verizon for them to start selling the U11. They'll know by the 15th if it happens or not. If Verizon starts selling the U11, I'm sure they'll give it better support than they are now.

Just an FYI. Saw this regarding an update in Africa. "Support 4CA" caught my eye. Perhaps there is hope for something similar here.

If Verizon sold the HTC U11 I would hop on it. Looks like a gorgeous device. I had the S8 Plus but due to screen glare and being uncomfortable to hold, i went the LG G6.

If Verizon wasn't the only good carrier here in central Illinois I would leave them for a GSM based company.

I really want the U11 but the whole HTC/Verizon mess is keeping me away from buying one.

I've only seen 1 person on here actually mention the phone not working as good as necessary for them most of the complaints with the phone and Verizon, on here at least, are because you can't get the the Verizon visual voicemail and use their wireless calling.

I recommend that if u actually want the phone get it and try it a few days and if it doesn't work to your satisfaction return it for a refund... Don't let these ppl deter you from getting something u want

I have the 10 on Verizon and if you can avoid going through them and getting the 11 from HTC you should. HTC 10 got Nougat 8 months before Verizon did. Except for the last patch (which was the first patch in months and the patches break other things like bluetooth) Verizon 10 has always been way behind.

That said, Verizon is the best service here yet I still need wi-fi calling to make a call. I waited years for Verizon to do this so its the reason I didnt go to HTC.

Good luck either way.

I'm hoping if Verizon sells the U11 that support will extend to the Unlocked versions. Mainly getting all the bands. I know the Verizon apps won't work but I'm not concerned about those anyway.

T-mobile doesn't have good service in Illinois?

Idk about TMobile but when I lived in Illinois (Joliet, right outside of Chicago) my family mostly had att and Sprint... It could just be where he lives at in Illinois that Verizon is the best service... Verizon is usually best in very woody areas
