The mobile hotspot promo was controlled by an internal feature code on our accounts. That feature code gradually began to get purged from accounts beginning yesterday. While there are still accounts that have it, they'll all be gone soon enough whether users do the upgrade or not. But doing the OTA and using the new mobile hotspot app will just force the change to your account if yours hadn't been systematically hit yet.

So for those who are saying "I'm never doing the update. Free hotspot 4 life!!!!!!!!!!", I just say lol.

And to those telling those people that their bill is going to skyrocket due to cheating the system, I say lol.

Bottom line, not doing the update will spare you a couple more free days of free mobile hotspot, if you're lucky. I'll take stability over being cheap over what prorates to a few bucks at most.
