I dont think you can do this at all on the ATT model. Same with the LG V10.

How do you access safe mode & factory reset on ATT?

You can enter safe mode by holding the power button like you're going to shut the phone down. When the screen pop up comes up to ask if you want to shut down, restart or put the device in airplane mode, you can long press on the power off option and then it will ask you to confirm booting in safe mode.

You can do a factory data reset via the settings. Can't remember exactly where it lives but if you open settings and search for factory, you'll see it.
