it appears as though I have more storage than it says I have, the gigabyte amount doesn't add up. What's going on?

You have 20GB used out of 32GB. The system sits in part of storage, but that doesn't show in that listing. Neither does the download system or the recovery system, both of which take space. It seems that the systems are taking a bit too much space - I'd prefer to see a total of about 24GB used and available - but different manufacturers partition storage differently.

The system is only using about 7.35GB of storage. The rest should be available unless you are using a carrier variant.
