Does "Timer" exists in Android Phone?

I heard that many electronic device would set "timer" which force you to fix or buy a phone after using for a certain time. Does anyone has experience on that?

I mean the phone will have some hardware problem, so you need to pay to fix the problem or buy a new phone.

What the OP is asking is if manufacturers secretly make their devices have programmed obsolescence, so that they purposely start slowing down around the time a new device comes out. The article I linked previously debunks that urban myth.

Oh, I didn't think you were disagreeing. I was mentioning my previous link more in response to the OP's followup posts. Sorry I wasn't more clear on that.

It's a myth...Many electronic devices have problem after guarantee period, so the myth comes out...
