Does "update android" do anything?

has "update android" EVER done anything?...just curious.
"update firmware" seems to be the only functioning update.

the others work...at least tell me if there is or isn't and update.

i have never seen it do anything either. not even check for an update.

According to sprint.... The update android is to update your phone if an update has already been sent to your phone and for some reason wasn't installed. When an update is pushed to your phone you can choose not to install at that time. Then you can go to the update android at a later time and it will work. It does not however go out and look for updates an update has to be pushed there first.

my sister had the update notification, then she went into her task manager and cleared out her running apps. her update notification disapeared. will she be able to update still?

try... settings/about phone/system update's/update android

If what the sprint rep told me is true, it should find any update that was pushed to her phone but never installed.
