The face on my old Gear S3 would turn off when i placed my palm over it. That does not happen on my new Galaxy watch. Is that normal or is there something wrong with it?

Not normal. It should go dark just like your Gear S3 (which I owned before the Galaxy Watch).

Apologies for asking an "is it plugged in" sort of question. But is your always on display set to on?

Not always on and it times out etc. everything else seems to work. I tried different faces and no difference. This is a store return that appeared to be new but it had been provisioned on AT&T before. It dies not have Samsung warranty, but i did purchase third party one.

I noticed my screen seemed to take forever to turn off after putting my palm over it when I first had my watch, a few seconds at least, but gradually it got less and less, now it's pretty much instant, maybe it's the watch in learning mode.

It is a bit odd how it works on mine. I ha e to hit it palm flat and fully covering making sure to remove my palm instantly. If I leave it covered it will not go off. So eone else on here had to tell me how at first. Once I got the trick down it goes off nearly every time.
