Does your G6 often die before being fully drained?

On the V20, my phone and my girlfriend's will typically die shortly after it gets the low battery warning. It's pretty annoying. A few people online have also reported the problem.

It's not clear if this is fault of the V20 or fault of the OEM battery.

I'm wondering if the G6 suffers anything similar or if there have been any reports that anyone has seen anywher. Pixel is priced beyond reasonable so I'm considering upgrading us to the V30 if we can find it on a good sale. If I'm only getting 85% of the advertised battery, though, I think I'll pass.

LG problem? V20 problem?

Happy to hear your thoughts, thanks.

My daughter's G6 has no such issue but my Moto X Pure does this.

It could very likely be the life of your battery. Anyone who has a g6 will be at most 6 months, and many less than that since it's more popular now than when it came out. Even though the v20 is less than a year old the battery life was never what I would call great so many you used a ton of charge cycles already.

Havent had any issues battery life great so far currently @4% with 6h 53 min SoT

It could be the life of the battery, but that's pretty worry some with a sealed battery.

My Nexus 5 does that. I believe it is by design. Fully discharging a lithium ion battery can permanently damage it.

Mine would shut off around 3%. I don't let it get that low, but I was testing battery stats that day to see what would happen.

A phone suddenly going from some non-zero battery level to 1% or 0% and shutting down immediately is an indication that the battery is starting to go in most cases. It's happened to every device I've owned for more than a couple of years, and on some devices much faster than that.

You will probably find, as I have on several devices, that the percentage slowly increases as the battery fails. My Nexus 10, for example, fails at 55% currently, up from 35% about 2 months ago. That means it's time for me to shop for a new battery for it, or a new tablet. No complaints. The Nexus 10 has held up extremely well for a good chunk of time.

This may not necessarily be your problem, but the good news is that on the V20 you can easily get a replacement battery and try it in each of your phones for a couple of days. If it fixes the problem, order a second battery and call it a love story. If it doesn't and you know for sure you got a good battery from a reputable supplier, then something is up with your phones.
