Does your headphone jack look like this?

Hi all,

I tend to be real OCD with my phones. Trust me, I know I think about things that really should not matter. The phone is functioning perfect, no light leak....no gaps....no camera issues.

However I notice by the headphone jack a little silver paint. See the photo, hard to tell if it is just seeing inside the circle for the port or not. I was told it was black all the way through and scratches would not show as silver.

Was I told wrong?

You can tell by the pictures that it is very minor. Thoughts? I looked online and can see other examples of this in review photos and closeups.

Ah I see now. No can't see anything similar on mine I don't think. It's very subtle though. Wouldn't have seen it at all without the new photo.

Yeah it is very subtle. Now the question is do I take it back to replace or keep it and not risk getting a phone with a hardware issue.

This phone OCD sucks. Surely it will get marked or scratched at some point. What would you do mate.....out of curiousity?

To be honest I'd keep it. I can't see it getting worse. If it's paint it might rub off eventually. With the phone OCD you're always going to find some kind of flaw and as far as flaws go that's tiny. Sometimes better the devil you know. You might swap and get something worse.

Additional photos. Looks like the silver ring goes all around. Can only see when looking it from certain angles.

Can see some when looking at it straight on.

Yeah I dont see it as a problem, I would try not to think about it, it could probably happen eventually to every phone if they kept plugging in and pulling out headphones, eventual wear...I doubt it's anything serious

OCD got the best of me haha.

I returned it and noticed that the other black models they had also had some silver paint or whatever showing.

I was going to go for a white one but all three of them had front and back very noticeable gap issues.

I went with the red/orange (looks ferrari red to me) Z3 compact.

Haha. I get OCD with my phone too. Nice choice with the red Compact.
