Dolby Digital Plus issues

So ever since I got my phone (Huawei Ascend P2) I've been using the Dolby Digital Plus features that came with it, to listen to my music. So as of the last couple of days I don't think its been functioning properly. See with it you could change the quality or effects of the song from shall we say Pop to the Blues, but it hasn't been changing at all. On top of this when you access the menu from sliding from the very top of the screen you can access the effects there, but its only giving me video effects and not music effects. So can someone help me out with this please?
