Ensure under settings -> settings you have notifications set. Look for it on the left navigation (last option if I recall correctly).

@Crazy_C - you can also mention someone (like I just did to you!) and you should receive an email... very handy!

Sorry, but the problem is solved already. Should have posted that!
It was the settings. With other forums it worked okay from the beginning.
Here I had to set it manually first, that's all.
But thanks for your replies.
