As my nickname suggests, I am blind. I do not have much experience with smartphones, as I have never really seen one with my own eyes. I need help! A very simple thing, but very challenging without your eyes and only a screen reader.
How in the devil do you add bookmarks in the Android Chrome browser?
Thank you in advance and may God bless.

Sorry, I'm not an expert, and Chrome is disabled on my Android devices. However, I just enabled it on my tablet to see what it does. To add a bookmark, you need to press the star icon at the far right end of the search bar. Once you press the star, a pop-up window will be displayed where you can edit the bookmark, cancel the action, or save it as is.

I'm sorry that you've had no reply. I noticed the question when you originally posted it but could not think how to answer that for a blind person. I'll pass it on to others who may know. Don't go yet. :)

Edit: Pardon me nahoku, I was unaware of your reply when I posted.

Why would you even bother with the bookmark feature.
With Google voice, Google assistant and even Svoice from Samsung, just give a voice command to go to whatever link you wish.
If the link is too long or complicated to remember, just copy and paste the link into a document that your reader can understand and again just use a voice command to activate the link or select the link just as you would if you were activating the link from a note or text document.

BlindSurvivor,

I sent a message out to my network to try to get some help here. Please standby! :) Hopefully someone has a good answer or work around for you. I would imagine that Google Now is a great tool for you! :)

Well, like others have said, you can quickly bookmark a link in Chrome by using the 'star' button in the navigation bar, but I can't think of a way to do that with Accessibility Options or voice commands :(

Best option I can think of is what Grim suggested: Use voice to navigate to the desired link. However, I can see where this gets tricky if that's a long and/or complicated address to remember :(

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried TalkBack? https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2633135?hl=en. I haven't used it myself, but it might give you more access to creating a bookmark for the page you're viewing. Normally, the way to create a bookmark is to tap the Menu button while in Chrome, then tap the Star icon at the top of the menu -- so you could see if TalkBack allows you to get to that option.

Sorry that you were frustrated by the initial lack of response, but remember that this is a huge forum with tons of new posts every day. It's relatively easy for a new thread to be buried by all of that traffic, so if you don't get any initial responses in the first 2-3 days, you can always bump your thread (maximum of one bump per 24 hrs).
