Don't put your pen in backwards!

So you are mad because they won't pay to fix what YOU broke through YOUR negligence? Sounds about right.

If you don't mind, can we tone that blame down a little? I get your point, but this is about how to get it fixed and letting people know that it is possible for this to happen - so they should be careful.

Anticipating and moderating the impact of common mistakes is not just good design. It is standard design. Have you never tried to insert your micro USB charger upside down? You can't, because the designers recognized that people would be accident, and it would damage the devices. So they made it impossible. You shouldn't do things that might scratch your screen, but people will by accident. That is why phone manufacturers use scratch-resistant glass. To access your notification shade, you are supposed to swipe down from the top of your screen. Would it really be OK if swiping from the middle bricked your phone?

I take even greater exception to the idea that the high price of the device means that users should assume more risk for design failures. Should we really expect a more expensive phone to require extra caution to use?

Maybe you can shave off some of the sides of the stylus to prevent this. It may not go in tight but it should not get stuck if inserted wrong.

I don't think that's possible. It has a "clicky" at the end. This click goes up and down to make it "click" into the phone so it will stay in place.

Has anyone with this problem tried another S Pen? Like going to a store and trying the display S Pen? Maybe the magnetic mechanism in the pen is damaged and not the phone...probably not, but it's worth a try.

Not bashing anyone in any way. I just can't believe enough people are doing this to warrant this kind of fall out.

Why did this not happen with the N4? The Spen certainly fits. Haha...I tried it but just enough to see if the tip fit.

Did one person try it, tell others what happened and then they tried it too? Or did this many people actually mistakenly do it? When I saw the first article after this thread, I was like this can't be happening to lots of people. But it is!

I actually think people are trying after they hear about, which is pretty dumb honestly. I doubt it happened to that many people by mistake and yes I agree with you, why did we not hear about it on the N4?

OMG I wish no one had posted this! I am just SOOOooooo tempted to see for myself. Haha!

M-UST re-sist....aughhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

You mean taking the store spen and putting in your own phone backwards? Actually the tmobile store went to took the pen out and kept it at the register.

Or do you mean trying it in the store model? Which I wouldn't suggest.

I think think thread has taken its course and should be closed.

Almost all of the comments are now nothing more than Samsung-bashing...
(or members bashing each other's comments one way or the other)

Will Verizon or Best Buy check Note 5 for pen damage, scratches or cracks when doing returns?
