I think overall Lollipop is a positive step forwards. The on screen notification display is one of my most favorite features.
However there are a few issues which I hope get patched. Many applications seem to freeze, most notably Gmail.
Also, I believe as a battery saving measure, they disabled applications after they had been put in the background for a few minutes. This causes applications such as Google Music to stop registering when I click the "Play" button on my headphones, which is mildly annoying.
