don't want gmail as default account

Just got my Epic replaced by Sprint as my other one froze and wouldn't budge - in the process of re installing apps, etc, I am unable to set my default email (the address my email is sent from) to anything other than gmail. the option "default account" is grayed out. Is there another place to set the default "sent from" account?

I think the workaround would be to remove the email account and re-add it again. But, make sure when adding you checkmark the option to "Send email from this account by default" when entering your user name and password.

If you already know how to remove your email account, great! If not, just follow these steps.

Open your email
Press Menu > Accounts
Hold your finger on the account to be removed for a few seconds
After the option window pops up select "Remove account"

Now you can add the same account again from the Menu > Accounts option.

Did you add a second account first? Sounds like you did not, if so add another account besides your Gmail then that option won't be greyed out any longer.
