dont want text preview!

No luck getting the phone to say "new message" instead of showing part of the actual text. I do t want pop ups. I just want a notification saying i have a new text. Help please.

Go into your messenger app, then settings, then turn off message preview (under "notifications").

I looked for that over and over and cant find such a thing. Thats what i had on my s3

Oops they moved it on me..

Settings, sounds and notifications, and change the "notification on lock screen" to hide content.

Had hide content already hidden...yet the preview still shows the words of the text.

Try clearing cache of the messenger app

Try this. In settings - sound & notifications - app notifications - scroll down until you find your messaging app. Tap on it and select "sensitive".

Sensitive is not an option there.

I am pretty disappointed how uneasy it is to simplify notifications. I want notifications on apps with sound,notification bar and led light but i do not want bubbles popping up and theyve taken this away from me.
