yeah.... many months ago I think it was @mustang7757 who said that AT&T doesn't like, nor play well with unlocked devices. almost makes it tempting to buy the carrier-branded phone............. almost. That's a major bummeryou go unlocked and still pay the price smh. I'm also on AT&T with an unlocked Flip 3, my first Samsung, and so far everything's been okay
I have heard repeatedly that AT&T isn't very good with updates to their carrier locked Samsungs though

one of the moderators on the Samsung forums offered this helpful tidbit to all the people over there clamoring for the One UI 6 update a couple of months ago:
"The process is this:
• When you install a carrier SIM in your phone, the phone reads the update server information. From then on it looks for updates on the carrier update server.
• Samsung releases the firmware for a device to the carriers.
• For the carrier version, the carrier adds their unique apps, sounds, and features.
• Each carrier decides on their testing schedule and release plan.
• Once each carrier is happy with the firmware, they push it to their update servers so that it available to their subscribers.
• The cycle is the same for U1 (unlocked) models except that carriers do not add their customizations.
This is why:
• Some carriers never release an update to their subscribers.
• U1 (unlocked) versions and carrier versions typically drop different days.
• Some users see the updates before other users. This is due to some carriers quickly approving the update and others taking their time."
