double notification sms

I installed handscent and now I get both it and the google sms standard app chiming in on top of one another. Can I get rid of the standard sms
and leave just handsent or will it screw up without the standard still installed..?? I mean does Handsent need some files that are in the old sms thing..??

Go into the default SMS app's settings and disable the notifications.

but maybe its good to have a backup notification,in case one fails,,,,,I guess its not that big a deal to get doubles..
