Double Notifications from one Google calendar?

I started google calendar notifications to my email before I had a smart phone.... on my old Galaxy S4 I didn't have this problem. I have my default set up to send email (was supposed to be only to my computer) days before and hours before as a reminder. Now that I have my GS5 phone and have sync'd it with my calendar I get double notifications for some things and I cant get it to turn off. I dont want to turn off all my notifications? I turned off my email notifications on my phone but that doesn't stop me from getting double Notifications Texts and sound? HELP

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Google Calendar on your computer browser, click on the dropdown arrow right next to your main calendar (in the left columns), and click on Edit Notifications. You can turn off Email Notifications for events there, instead of turning off the notifications on your phone. See if that helps.

Thx I had all ready turned off the email notifications, I hardly look at my emails on my phone usually computer only... any how even doing that does not stop the extra notifications. What I did notice though... there was a line under event notifications "Email notifications for events that were created on Google+ are sent by Google+. You can control which emails you want to receive for these events in your (Google+ settings) Learn More when you click on settings there is a Notification settings and ubder that choices of Push Notifications, SMS or Don't notify me the last which I chose ...we'll see if this works??
