Double tap Home Button may bypass secutiy lock

Have you gone into the settings to ensure there is no delay on locking the screen? Make sure this is set to locked immediately and there is no way to bypass the lockscreen from the double tap of the home button.

This. Also works perfectly with the Nova launcher someone mentioned above. There is a security issue, however, in that most people wouldn't know this or maybe not even notice that the phone shouldn't have unlocked after double tapping the home button to access the camera. The software shouldn't really allow this, or warn you, when setting secured lock time to other than immediate.

Thank you bgapfire and dakini03 for reminding all of us of this important security step.

I hear ya. I don't think it is a security issue. It is a documentation issue. I totally concur that a warning should be provided upon setup that the phone is not set to lock immediately. Unfortunately, most people I know don't care about locking their screens. It is such a benefit to have sites like this that have people to provide useful information when it is really needed.

Well said bgapfire. I feel any possible issues should be made to all users. I understand Samsung protecting their products. But they should address them if customers are having issues. Possibly I'm having a software or application issue and it's isolated. I hope so because my entire family are Samsung users. I agree, sites as this one are very helpful. Keep the lock on 😊
