What system app is responsible for the Double tap to wake feature?

That's not my question. I mean which app from the app list? You know, when you go to settings - apps and see the list of all the apps on your phone

It's the system. There is no specific app (well, there probably is a system component that handles it, but it's not going to be available to the user to modify or disable).

No, I mean it's the system in general that's handling it. I can't tell you the exact system component that's responsible, but for the general user, it's not going to help knowing which component it is anyway, since you can't do anything with it. (Unless you rooted the phone, in which case it could be risky to start fiddling with system components.)

Can you give a little more info about why you're looking for the exact system app/component that's responsible?

Its because double tap to wake doesn't always work. I mean one day it works perfectly, another day the phone is 100% unresponsive to taps.

That may be the skin on the tip of your finger is a bit dry. Try using the front of your finger or giving it a quick lick.

Which phone? I had one Pixel where double tap to wake was picky on where you tapped.

I'll give it a try but my fingers are always dry when I use the phone. I mean it works until it doesn't but my fingers are always the same.
