AC Question

Hello,

Anyone know of a way/app so that the download is direct to external storage?

TIA, Ian

If you plug external storage like a flash drive with an OTG cable to drive should show up in you file explorer (such as ES File Explorer) You could then follow these steps:

- I'd first determine where the most/biggest files were located using something like DiskUsage - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e.../store/apps/d...iskusage&hl=en&token=mZIkeQID

- I'm assuming it's photos and videos, but maybe some games/apps are taking up a lot of space. It's good to see it visualized like this.

- I'd then get a file manager such as ES File Explorer - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e.../store/apps/d...roid.pop&hl=en&token=tqt_uCYM

- Fine the files and/or folders you want to move - select them in the file explorer and choose "Move to" and select a folder on your external storage drive. (choose the eject button to safely remove the drive when done)

If you mean download using a web browser, no - they use internal storage as an intermediate download location, then move the download to where it's going if it's not going to /Downloads. Windows works the same way, you just don't notice it, because people usually don't run Windows with only 300MB free on the hard drive.
