Is there a device to connect a cell phone to a rj11 chorded phone?

It would be ideal to have as direct connection as possible. The issue with xlink and bluetooth is loosing connection and not automatically reconnecting. I run macros to force reconnect for different disconnects. It worked great until the code library changed and bluetooth control was blocked.
It's the garbage box or a really cheap ass phone. BT isnt the weak link, it's one of the two devices.

I've never had BT issues with any of my devices.

Not sure what Android phone you're using, but via modes and routines one should be able to setup a routine trigger for if a certain BT device is disconnected, to then connect a BT device. I've not played around with that combination before, but in theory it could help.
I would have to check the model. I believe it is an old LG Stylo tracfone with Android 7. I use MacroDroid macros to reconnect the phone to BT whenever there is an unexpected break that the normal BT settings can not handle. The old version of Android works without all the BT security restrictions that the newer versions have.

I have the XLink right next to her phone . I also have XLink at my place 70+ miles away. It seems that my calls to her have a low quality connection. Other calls I make come in fine. It could probably be a number of things but I was hoping to eliminate BT.

@kenmtb

Something like this. There are ones labeled 'AT&T' but aren't just for their service it's works for all.

Boxes like the you have are all rated poorly. I think above is the best solution.
That looks like something that will work. I was hoping to allow her to use her big button simpl phone as she has dementia and needs a very basic phone.

You might be able to get just the base unit and find an add-on/single phone in the same series with bigger high contrast buttons
