Download iheartradio podcasts

I have a MetroPCS plan with Music Unlimited, where music apps don't count against my high speed allotment. One of the apps included is iheartradio. However, recently iheart has switched a replay channel I listen to over to a podcast. It appears since this has changed that iheart podcasts do indeed count against my data. That's a fight I'm taking up with Metro, until they either tell me it's because it's a podcast or somehow make these also not count against data.

My question though: Is there a way to download iheartradio podcasts directly to my phone to listen to later? Supposedly you can do something similar with playlists, but I've never tried that, and can't seem to figure anything out for the podcasts.

Did you ever get an answer to this? I used to be able to download podcasts from an I-heart station through the site spreaker.com which I think is the service that I-heart uses for storage. The station changed "something" (nobody will tell me what) and new shows don't show up on spreaker any more. This help page on I-heart says that you can download podcast episodes but my app can't:

I have recently discovered that if, while I'm connected to wi-fi, I start playing a podcast but immediately pause it, the phone will apparently download and cache the file, since the app will play it later when I don't have any wi-fi or data connection. This only works for that one file: when it's done playing, the app expects to go back online. I haven't figured out where the file is cached - I would love to find this location so I can pull out the files and move them to my mini mp3 player that I use for all my other podcasts. Stupid I-heart...

I found a solution!
for android at least.
on my S10 I went into internal storage then searched for iHeart.
at which point I found some files inside where iheartradio stores everything.
I used mediainfo app to open one particular file named like episode123456.STRM and it showed the guts of the file as an MP4! so I renamed the .strm file to M4v and opened with android player, vlc, mxplayer and it worked! I even copied and pasted the file in downloads directory and it still worked.
Btw I should clarify that these are podcasts that I had purposefully downloaded from a radio station in Cleveland. The show is called Rover's Morning Glory.idk if this applies to every podcast or not.

Solution: find where your iheartradio app stores its .strm files, copy to another directory and rename the files from .strm extension to .m4v extension. Open with android player of your choice. (have only tested with VLC, MX, s10 video player)

I can't find an iheart folder in my internal storage... or on my sd card... ?? I used the "my files" app... (a Samsung app)
