I see. So when it goes through the first install, it partially installs ICS, including the recovery, but fails? Even after trying after the first attempt multiple times, I would get the same package error (Status 0 or something), I couldn't get it to work.

Yup, the first time if you don't have the ICS compatible recovery, it'll give you an "error 0", (if you get an "error 7" it's some root files that need to be removed, and that makes this way not work). Then you just choose reboot, and when it powers down, hold down volume buttons to get back into recovery. Then wipe cache one more time and install again, BAM! ICS goodness! But to be honest, with Blur, I don't really notice much of a difference. Not my phone though so I don't really care, just excited to be a little ahead of the, uh, whatever!
