Download speeds?

What kind of download speeds are y'all getting on the "4G" network? Depending on the time of day...I get 1.3 mbps down and 500kish up..seems like I was getting better speeds on the 3G network with iphone 4...thoughts? Anyone experiencing the same?

It is called marketing. Marketing manage to get the 4G to mean anything faster than current 3G.

I call it fake G.
Remember marketing does not care about the truth.

not anytime soon. the req. for 4g is 100mbps you can read about it here 4G ATT is planning to use Tmobile' infrastructure for rolling out LTE network wich again can not be called true 4G. but Atrix does not have a hardware for LTE. so you will have to get another phone by the time it rolls out

All the telcos are in business to make money, any way they can. There is no such thing as ethics. The banking system makes the telcos look like saints. The telcos operate under the assumption that their subcribers are ignorant cattle. So, ATT calls the Atrix "4G", but that is nothing but a bald-faced lie.

If government(the FCC) tries to regulate the telcos to their disadvantage, they just pay lobbyists to bribe the Congress to either break the regulation, or Congress writes new legislation which renders the FCC regs impotent.

I did 4 speed tests. 12 am. 4/5 bars signal.

Highest I got is 5.5 MBps. That's around 630 kb/s.
Lowest is 300 kb/s.

The best I ever pulled on my ATRIX was right on the outskirts of the city on the outerbelt going to dinner one night with the wife. I was playing around to see what I could got and speediest said I wasting pulling 6 down. On wiring at home it is obviously faster but I think there is a limitation in place regardless. I have a 30 down 5 up service through Roadrunner and my other devices can pull that but the fastest I have ever seen the Atrix go was about 12-15 down but maxed out at 5 up.

i am using the same one, it must just be the network here....we need another hurricane to destory the towers here in new orleans so we can get better equipement. seems thats the only time they do upgrades in our area.
