Downloaded apps won't create icon on homepage or app drawer

Just set up a new Tab A 10.1 and everything seems ok except for when I download new apps from the Play Store.

The apps will download and I can launch them from the Play Store, or I can launch them if I search for the app in the app drawer, but I don't see any of their icons on the home pages or in the app drawer. The apps are there but they never create an icon anywhere for me to manually launch them.

If anyone can help with this that would be great!

Welcome to Android Central! You can always open your App Drawer, long-press the app you're interested in, then drag and drop it to the homescreen.

If you want newly installed apps to automatically add a shortcut on the homescreen, then look for a setting for that in the homescreen options. @mustang7757 might be able to help with that, since he's more familiar with Samsung devices than I am.

Yeah to automatically add to home screen just long press empty page on home screen >tap hone screen settings >then toggle on to add home screen apps .
