i would appreciate it if someone told me a step by step on how to download the cyanogen mod from the rom manager because i got an error at the end and i want to know if have to download something extra for it to work???

yea now it shows cyanogen mod and the android avatar on a skateboard turning on but does nothing its stuck on it for 30 minutes dont know what to do now

Kinda depends on wat recovery you have. I'll assume this is your first root and you have clockwork. Reboot into hboot by powering off your phone them power on by holding power+vol down then select recovery. I don't have clockwork anymore so I don't remember the menu exactly but there will be a wipe option and you should wipe the phone to factory reset and also the sd. BACK UP YOUR SD SO YOU DON'T COME BACK ASKING WAT HAPPEN TO WATEVER YOU HAD ON THERE. Then put the cm zip back on your sd and reflash it

thank you i would also like to know how can i go back to the stock rom???

If you created a nandroid backup of it, that would be easiest. If not, just download the stock rooted rom from xda and flash it like you would any other rom.

so I just did this and for good measure I used Caulkins Format all zip before I flashed cm6. Now when I load on a custom kernel (I used the one in your signature) i'm stuck at the boot animation. I can't seem to load any custom kernels with success anymore accept king's sense kernels and thats only from 1-6 bfs and 1-6 cfs. Might not be that much of a problem now but when future kernels are released with features that would benefit me i'll be STUCK! Seriously thinking about selling my Evo and just sticking with the HTC HD 2 I just bought for $60 bucks..

I would use the recovery to wipe all partitions (including System) when going from a sense to a non-sense ROM.

As well when flashing a kernel I find it's best to flash a fresh ROM (after wiping EVERYTHING) then in the same session in recovery flashing the Kernel on top of it.

Also what ROM are you using that kernel with?

I did a factory reset, wiped the partition, wiped davlick cache, wiped cache, even did battery stats. To make sure I didn't screw it up, I used Calukins Format all zip right after I did that, it wipes everrythinggggg. Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with my phone..I flash cm6, google apps, darkberry theme (sexyyyyy) and now trying cm snap 7.4havs kernel and its been stable BUT check this..I have no android keyboard. It has nothing to do with the theme because I tried without it. I even tried flashing each one individually and hitting reboot recovery every time. Now the only solution to the android keyboard problem is using rom manager to install cm 6 from my sd card. I dont know what rom manager does that I didn't but it just loads perfectly but then I have to go back and do more flashing.

I would take a least common denominator approach, I know a few of the CM6 nightly builds had some *interesting* keyboard problems, so just to verify you're using CM6 stable?

As well I've never used a format all zip, Calukin has some good stuff over there at XDA but either recovery should do a good job on it's own of wiping all your partitions (i just don't format the SD card or boot).

I would verify you have CM6 stable, go in to recovery wipe system, cache, data, sd-ext and dalvik, flash CM6 and reboot and see how it is, if you're all good there you can go back in to recovery and the kernel, then reboot and make sure you're all good, then i'd do gapps and make sure you're fine and then then the theme, this way you can see if anything is messing you up along the way.
