Hey guys. I downloaded an mp3 from Google Play Music. The problem is I can't find it anywhere on the phone. I need to move it to a music folder so that my alternative music player app can read it. Does anyone know where MP3's from the Google Play music are stored? Thank you!

All content downloaded from the Google Play Music environment is in a different file type and name which you can't use as a original MP3.

This content is referred to as "pinned", which basically means it is on your device for offline usage within that app. If you purchased it you can download it to a PC through the Google Play Manager and then transfer it to your phone, but you can also just use the Google Play Music app to play it on your phone.

You don't download MP3s form Google play, you download DRM protected files (unsure of the format) and thus will not work in any other player

So, isn't there any chance to save those files and use them later?

Yes, you can download them as mp3's from Play on a computer. Then you can do whatever you want with those MP3's.

You won't be able to do anything with the DRM'd files you may have downloaded through the subscription service. Content you've purchased can be accessed.

Correct. I was assuming this was just a straight up purchase of music, not the subscription. I should have been more clear.
Does any music streaming services allow their songs to be downloaded in a way you can listen with an app outside of their own? I would doubt it, but I have never really thought about it.
