Downloading free apps from Amazon Store

Does anybody know how i can download free apps from amazon store without having to enter any debit/credit card details. I have friends who own FIRE tablets and claim they can download free apps without entering any card details but when i ask them how, they either have forgotten how to do it or say that they dont need to do anything extra to download free apps.

Whenever i try to download free apps, it directs me to enter card details.

I Googled it and was instructed to ensure that my country settings are correct (UK), which i did, but no change.
I would just enter card details and be done with it, but the handset belongs to the company i work for and im not entering MY OWN card details into like work suggested.

Does anybody know how to sort this?

Even though the app is free you have to have a Amazon account registered to download it. You will get a email saying you purchased the app for 0.00$. Google's play store is the same way. 1 MobleMarket, MoboMarket, Getjar and others do not require an account. Try one of them.

I think you just need an account. I just registered without giving them any card numbers and it's fine. Like Google Play, you just need an account. Amazon sends you an email saying that you purchased x for $0.00.
