Doze doesn't work... ?

So, the first night this all started, my cellular signal was the problem and WiFi didn't seem to be working overnight. The second night, WiFi was fine and cellular was not being used so Doze worked great. Just last night, it's back to using cellular all night. I have to keep experimenting or something. Any comment on this battery reading?

first, its not using cellular per say, its reporting signal strength, which when anything other than green will cause quicker battery depletion.

your screenshot doesnt show me doze was utilized at all, but rather its showing normal use (well at least some app was awake, a lot). Doze, when in use for a long period of time (overnight) will show a mostly flat line. Keep in mind, Doze is not supposed to work when the phone is in anything but a completely idle state.

My phone doesn't have a solid awake bar and has some dashes when the screen is off but nothing like yours. I just shut off my Google Now cards and I'll see how that does. I really wish I could figure what app is waking my phone

I do keep Bluetooth off when sleeping since I believe that helps contribute to the phone waking up more as it searches.

I do have WiFi set to stay on all night. Before I put it down for bed, I double-checked to make sure it was solidly connected to WiFi.

I am in a puzzling situation because I need to figure out what I did two nights ago vs. last night. I did think of one possible culprit but I can't remember clear enough now. I *think* I had my watch ON and next to it two nights ago but last night, I had the watch turned off... maybe the Gear app was continuously searching for the watch.

I'm going to experiment.

FWIW - I do get periods of doze during the day where the battery graph is relatively flat.

I have an app that automatically turns on DND (Silence Premium). The app also turns off Bluetooth during those periods. So, it may be Bluetooth that's keeping the phone awake, if you're leaving it on and it's connecting to the watch. Unless you really need it on during the night, that might be something to try and see if it makes a difference.
