Doze is crashing my phone

Five or six times today I've found my phone at the locksceeen for a reboot. This happened after my phone had just been sitting idle each time. I checked the battery graph and it shows a short flat section (Doze kicking in) then crash. I've tried wiping cache, no joy.
This thread made me know I'm not alone.

Doze isn't really an app or service or anything that "runs", it is just a difference in how the OS handles idle - it'd be very unlikely for it to be able to "crash" anything. I'd recommend some of the advise on that thread - try to isolate which app is causing the crash and eliminate it. Rebooting in safe mode to verify install is solid, factory data reset - don't reinstall any third party apps, verify stability, then reintroduce 3rd party apps one at a time.
