Doze Question

So I turned off battery optimization on a few apps that I always want to be notified from, so I would still be notified from them during doze. I left my phone sitting for a few hours tonight while I watched a baseball game. When I picked my phone back up, it exploded with notifications. Including ones on my not optimized list. Is this how it's supposed to work? Or is something not working right?

Doze has never stopped notifications, that I have noticed. Try resetting your battery optimisation and starting again.

To check Doze is working, leave the phone for a while and check the battery usage when at rest. It should have a nice flat line in the battery stats representing only a few % loss overnight for instance. Having said that, I don't think my 10 is as efficient with Doze as some past phones I've had. My Nexus 5x and SG7E (sorry for mentioning that one!!!) Lost 5% or less overnight, I've never had so little from the 10.

I left it sitting today for awhile too and it still stopped some notifications from coming through even though they were set to not be optimized. Also, didn't see a flat line or anything.

I reset my optimized apps and rebooted the phone. I'll see how it does later tonight.
