What is this DPI scaling issue I've seen a few complaints about? Can someone post a pic of the issue?

From the OP Reddit:
"Also, I can't wait for the ability to turn the DPI scaling down. Everything in Android is stupidly large."

I have no idea what the poster is complaining about. I don't notice any unusual sizing issues on my OP3.

The default DPI in Android is awful. With Nougat you can natively change the screen DPI to lower or even bigger if you want.

So to clarify, does this mean you can make the icons and text on the screen bigger and smaller? Almost like increasing g or decreasing the phones display resolution? :)

A droid a day, keep the apple away.

There's already an option in stock OOS to change the size of the icons. I still have no idea what the DPI issue is that I referenced in my OP.

It's not only icon size what dpi changes, it makes every elements in UI little smaller, so more stuff in every app on screen.

It's only in Nougat as a native

Not sure if you are referring to the icon size or the DPI change, although I suspect the latter. But to change the size of the icons in the stock launcher (3.2.8), here is a screenshot of the page where the change can be made.

I was talking about the display size feature which comes in Android 7.0

Ok, This app won't let me post screenshots at the moment... Very irritating.

Hey Fuzzy, I appreciate the screen shots, but I have no idea what you're showing me in those shots. Is the font too large? It all looks good to me!

Oh they actually show for you? One is with the DPI scale at smallest and the other at largest to illustrate what it does... The DPI scaling "issue" doesn't actually exist, it's just that some people don't like how large it is in oxygen OS 3/marshmallow.

Yes, I see them fine. But both appear identical to me. I see no visual difference at all between them.

Hmm, maybe i uploaded the same one twice... They don't show for me for some reason and I'm a bit sleep deprived lol. I'll try again...

Yes, the first one has a smaller font than the last one. But again, I don't see the problem that causes the DPI complaint.

That's because there isn't a problem. Some people just didn't like the scale that was used... The "issue" with the DPI scaling didn't really exist, it's just preference.
