Dreaded green flicker on right side of screen

Nice! How are the speakers?

Still trying to sign into everything and get sms to work. I can send sms fine, but I'm not receiving any. It's downloading an update so maybe that's why. Messages is updated. Nothing is abnormal in the connections settings. I may remove my sim and reinsert it.

Edit: texts started coming in out of the blue. I think the first system update might have had something to do with it.

Yeah the phone probably had to do a lot of updates. How's everything going now?

Everything seems good. I'm sorry about your experience with your replacement. I'm definitely going to hang onto this phone for a while and not trade it in.

Nice! I'm glad to hear that. That gives me hope that my next one will be good! Enjoy your phone :)

Thanks. As much as it pains me, I think I'm going to leave adaptive brightness on.

I leave the adaptive brightness on. I like it because when I'm outside the screen gets really bright. I just ordered my replacement phone. Should have it by next week. My fingers are crossed

I had this problem on my October 2022 purchased 7P starting from about mid November or so. Got it replaced in December and so far haven't seen the problem again. I wonder if the early shipments are prone to this problem. People complained for a brighter screen and looks like this is the consequence of that.

I'm hoping my second replacement is the one that will last :)

I posted my saga of getting a replacement Pixel 5 some time ago. The whole thing left a bad tasted in my mouth for Google in general and the Pixel lineup specifically. I switch off between Android and iOS so comparing Apple's outstanding customer support is a natural comparison to Google. I am very happy to hear Google is making this right for you. My sad story may have been an aberration, brought about by unfortunate timing in the product cycle. Google abandoned the Pixel 5 quickly by anybody's standards. And they jammed the 5a out there just as fast. Curiouser and curiouser. Looks like they've committed more fully to the Pixel 6 and 7 so that's good news to users of those mobiles.

How is it? I hope everything is OK now.

I just got it set up this afternoon. But the speaker still sound really tinny to me. I think that's just how Google made the speakers on the Pixel 7 this time. But I'm going to keep it. There's no scratches anywhere on the phone and it seems to be great otherwise!

Good to hear. Fingers crossed that we don't have anymore issues with the screens.

FYI: yesterday's Google Beta Quarterly Platform Release addresses a green flickering light issue. Maybe this will be a part of the March feature drop. The photo is just a screenshot. Not a link.

I saw that, and I really hope it solves the problem! I was pretty surprised, since the description from everyone made it sound like a hardware issue. Fingers crossed!

Even though the feature drop will include this fix on March 6, I enrolled in the beta and am downloading the latest QPR beta. I don't think I'll enroll for the Android 14 public beta when it comes out in a few months.

Edit: I changed my mind to install the beta. Not sure if it will affect my banking apps or not. Not really worth it.
