Driving mode and S-voice - inconsistent behavior

If I have Driving Mode on and I'm in the S-Voice screen and I get a text message, my phone tells me who it's from, reads it to me, and lets me say "Reply" to reply to it. Very cool, and very useful.

However, if I have Driving Mode on and I'm not in the S-Voice screen, it'll tell me who the text is from and read it to me, but it won't give me the option of replying. So, for example, if my lock screen timeout has occurred and the phone is dark, this happens. If I want to reply to the message, I have to hit the power button, say my wakeup command, and then say "text <whoever> blah blah blah". Not as cool, and not as useful.

Is there a way to make the phone always take me to the S-Voice screen when a text comes in if I'm in Driving Mode so it gives me the reply option?
