Driving Mode activates like it should but I have to manually turn it off when I'm no longer driving. Is this how it's supposed to work or is there a setting that I am missing?

Found that out the hard way when a text came in.

Mine turns off automatically after I leave my car, usually within a minute

-Moto X-

Mine does as well. It's worked every time without a hitch. I put it in my pocket upside down... on the off chance that matters.

Driving mode will shut off after about a duration of 2-3 typical traffic light's worth of travel at walking speed or less (or maybe around 10 MPH). Give it a minute or so, as Rocketsaucev2 posted.

I hope Moto adds the ability to detect if you are driving via bluetooth connection to your car. So when you turn on the car, driving mode kicks in. And when you turn off the car, driving mode disengages immediately. Moto did have the 'Smart Actions' application back in the days of the Droid RAZR which had this functionality. I'm hoping it makes a return in the Assist app.

I've had driving mode triggered by my walking with the phone.

But it does turn off after I've been still for a while.

Thanks everyone. I'll test it out some more and see if it is shutting off like it should.

It would seem that they're planning on doing this. With the latest update to Motorola Contextual Services, Motorola "Added support for Bluetooth driving detection". They probably have to update Motorola Assist to use the new feature in the services app.

Last time I timed it, it took about 3 minutes for driving mode to stop on my phone. Aside: this begs the question, if I'm stuck in really bad traffic that's inching along, will driving mode turn off? Haha

Oh that would suck turning on while walking. Do you walk fast ?

I guess so? I turned off the "restart music" feature, which I didn't want in my car either, and I rarely notice what mode it is in while I walk. I only realized it was doing that because the music turned on. I can still get a phone call, so no real problem.

that's a hardware problem with the GPS on the phone. I would return it.

It seems to be working properly now. Not sure what happened but I'll continue to keep an eye on this to see if it happens again.
