Droid 2 Global screen goes crazy

My phone is having some major issues and I was wondering if there is any way to fix it. Sometimes the screen will just randomly just push buttons and just keeps going. This can happen from the home screen to any screen that is open. I changed my screen protector and that isn't it and now I have lost some of my contacts because before I was able to stop the screen going crazy it deleted them. Any ideas?
Also I'm looking at buying a friends' D2 Incredible 2 to get me by until I can upgrade how is that phone?

This happened to me twice and both times i had to get a replacement. Luckily they were still under warrently at the time.

I have this same problem with my phone. Maybe I should have replaced under warranty as well! Quite the annoyance when texting. :/

Immediate solution is to turn the screen off, back on, unlock, and it's fixed (at least temporarily).
